Specialists of the Food and Veterinary Service are nominated as experts in a training project to advise institutional specialists on the application of EU sanitary and phytosanitary legislation in both the EU and third countries that is funded by the European Commission and led by the Italian consulting company OPERA SRL.

Project objective: To strengthen the capacity of the beneficiary countries by training EU and third countries’ specialists to apply the requirements of EU legislation in the field of animal feed, animal health and welfare, and plant health.

FVS experts conduct trainings on the following topics:

  1. Surveillance and control of African swine fever;
  2. Eradication of rabies in the wild population;
  3. Border control: identification of animals and physical checks.

Planned implementation period: 06.2016–12.2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the project has been suspended indefinitely.
