In order to ensure the prevention and combating of infectious animal diseases, veterinary medical practices and monitoring of the circulation of products of animal origin, to ensure veterinary control of imports and transit of animal and animal products, all veterinary surveillance facilities referred to in Section 1 of the Veterinary Medicine Law, with the exception of food-producing housings, must be registered in the Food and Veterinary Service., which implements the State veterinary supervision in Latvia.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    In order to register a veterinary surveillance facility, an application for registration of an object must be submitted to the territorial unit of the PVD, accompanied by copies of documents determined by the binding regulatory enactments of each field, as well as a copy of a personal identification document, if the merchant is a natural person.

    An application may also be submitted by e-mail, signed with an e-signature.

    It may also be submitted via the e-address of the institution.

    The service charge is specified in the price list.

  2. Service Processing
    The PVD shall examine the application and register the veterinary facility.

  3. Receipt of services
    Receipt of services according to the application of choice.
