With the visit of experts from the Food and Veterinary Service of Latvia to the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development of Uzbekistan, which takes place from August 5 to 9, 2024 in Tashkent, the Food and Veterinary Service has started the implementation of development cooperation project “Strengthening the official control system and improving the compliance of aquaculture farms and establishments processing fishery products in the Republic of Uzbekistan according to EU standards”.
During their visit, Latvian experts familiarise themselves with the official control system introduced by the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development, visit research and diagnostic facilities and aquaculture farms in Uzbekistan. Experts will identify the main gaps and provide their observations and recommendations for improving the system. The visit includes discussion sessions, exchange of practices and experience, and building connections between the two institutions.
The project objective is to improve the knowledge of the Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development and strengthen the official control system with the aim of bringing aquaculture and fish processing establishments closer to compliance with European Union standards and facilitate Uzbekistan's access to international markets.
The Beneficiary of the project is Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
